now & later: the henley dress (rl -rugby)

"It’s snowing again on the East Coast, and while we’re looking forward to diving into Rugby’s spring collections, we’re also just trying to make it to and from work without getting frostbite. And we know many of you are right there with us. To that end, we asked Alicia from our Boston store to demonstrate how to wear our new Kalysta Henley dress for January’s snow showers as well as for spring’s soon-to-come flowers."

"Now:
Cozy dressing is chic during the dark days of winter, so the fact that the Henley dress is activewear-cum-pajamawear means it’s perfect for a day at the Boston Library. Add leggings and a cashmere cardigan and you’ll feel that much more prepared for the cold temps outside. Keep the look from becoming too casual with fashion-forward accessories and outerwear. Here, a woven belt cinches Alicia’s waist, a knit beret adds a bit of French-girl flair and a pair of high-heel boots clearly states “I’m not going down without a fight.” The navy wool coat is a strong finishing touch and a necessary break from winter’s requisite down-filled parka."

"Later:
When winter finally turns into spring, you’ll be ready to shed as many layers as possible. Ideally, you’ll be left your beloved Henley dress, a pair of bare legs and a couple of great finishing touches. Revel in the opportunity to style your look with accessories that are not 90% utility-based by choosing a desk-to-dinner clutch and a pair of below-the-ankle heels. And if unpredictable spring weather leaves you grasping for an extra layer, add the cardi or cropped coat and a fashion hat."
